PAWS BY-LAWS
Article I Name
The name of this organization shall be known as the N.P. PANTHER PAWS. This will be a non-profit organization.
Article II Purpose
PAWS is a voluntary association of individuals. PAWS is being organized to support, promote, and encourage the student athletes and athletic programs of the Northern Potter School District.
Article III Meetings

All meetings will be called by the President.

All meetings will be posted on the school web site. Each officer will be notified via e-mail of the coming meetings.

Election of officers will be held at the April meeting of the present school year for the upcoming school year.

All officers, board, and voting members must give notification of attendance to the President via e-mail or phone at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled meeting. This is for both attendance and non-attendance.

Article V Duties

President: To preside at all meetings, vote on ties, and to call special meetings when needed.

Vice President: To fill in for the President as needed, and to fill other duties as designated by the President. The Vice President is also the membership chairman.

Secretary: To keep minutes of all meetings, file papers, and to give reports at all meetings.

Treasurer: To keep the financial books and give a report at each meeting. To file all papers needed each year. All disbursements must be made by check, which are approved for payment by the President.

School Liaison: Will coordinate any official activities or events between the school and PAWS.

Chairperson Coordinator: Will be the contact person and coordinator between PAWS and the Chairperson for each sports team.
Article VI Procedures

All expenditures will be voted on by the board, majority rules.

Non meeting votes – the requester will submit and e-mail to all officers for consideration and possible vote. At the next meeting, all officers will sign a hard copy.
Article VII
Amendments
These articles may be revised or amended by a 2/3 majority of the board membership.
Article VIII Membership

Anyone 18 years or older and living in the Northern Potter School District is eligible for membership and is welcome to attend any and all meetings.
Article IX Fundraisers

PAWS will sponsor official fundraisers in which all sports will participate. The money generated from these fundraisers will go into the general fund to be used for the benefit of the Northern Potter Athletic Department. These funds will not be used to purchase personal items for the athletes (items they own).

Team fundraisers are used to purchase items decided upon by the coach, the team and the chairperson. Individual sales records will be maintained by the PAWS Treasurer and available at the High School. The fundraisers must be approved in advance and run through PAWS. Five percent of the profits from all team fundraisers will go into the PAWS general fund for future purchase of awards, flowers, banners, plaques, etc.

Instructions for team fundraisers

Complete a request for (available in the office) and submit to the President for approval. This form may be turned in at the office. Please submit the completed form as early as possible.

Parents work closely with the chairperson.

Each child receives credit for his or her sales.

A parent has the option of not participating and paying the cost of the item.

At the conclusion of the fundraiser, please turn in all money and paperwork to the Treasurer.

We encourage all athletes to participate in the fundraisers as this promotes unity, teamwork, and school spirit.

Should a student require assistance for any reason, please contact the chairperson and help will be provided.
